Teamwork and thunder sticks: The Angels' first-ever World Series Championship! They won 99 regular season games and began the postseason as a formidable American League Wild Card entry. The Halos first vanquished the mighty New York Yankees, then captured the Club's first American League pennant by defeating the Minnesota Twins, and finally outslugged the sluggers of the San Francisco Giants to become the first AL Wild Card team to win the World Series championship. This seven-DVD collection contains every pitch, hit, clutch home run, sterling defensive play, and Rally Monkey-memory along with each glorious Anaheim Angels 2002 World Series championship moment. A special DVD audio-feature allows fans to watch the World Series television broadcast and listen to the Angels Radio Network announcers! All seven World Series games against the San Francisco Giantsr."
Witness the end of civilization unfold as hostile alien invaders attack the planet. As people everywhere watch the world’s great cities fall, Los Angeles becomes the last stand for mankind in a battle no one expected. Now it's up to a Marine staff sergeant (Aaron Eckhart) and his platoon to draw a line in the sand as they take on an enemy unlike any they’ve ever encountered in this epic sci-fi action film.
Battle: Los Angeles is a war movie first, science fiction second. It's got it all: a burned-out retiring sergeant who gets drawn back in because, dammit, the Marines need him; the guy who's about to get married; the guy who's still a virgin; the guy suffering from shell shock and who just might crack; the newbie officer with a lot of book learning who you just know is going to freeze under pressure and have to be shepherded by that burned-out sergeant, who learned his lessons on the battlefield… and so much more. There's not a moment in this movie you haven't seen before--the only twist is that the enemy is alien, so whatever shred of concern you might have for raining heavy artillery on a fellow human being can be cheerfully cast aside. But clichés are clichés because they are efficient and effective, and despite the profound familiarity of Battle: Los Angeles, there's no denying the movie rips along (though two-thirds of the way through you may have forgotten who was the virgin and who was the shell-shocked guy--but really, does it matter?). The look owes a debt to District 9, a hand-held, vérité grittiness, with most of the CGI carefully given a dingy, dirty look so that it meshes with the urban landscape. Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight) does an impressive job of spitting out ham-fisted dialogue like he really, really means it, while the rest of the cast is suitably generic. This is an unrepentant love letter to the military; many viewers, faced with the unsettling chaos and moral ambiguities of real wars, will find this mythologizing not only soothing, but even moving. --Bret Fetzer

NCIS: Los Angeles™ is a drama about the high stakes world of a division of NCIS that is charged with apprehending dangerous and elusive criminals that pose a threat to the nation's security. By assuming false identities and utilizing the most advanced technology, this team of highly trained agents goes deep undercover, putting their lives on the line in the field to bring down their targets.
The exceptional writing and cast chemistry that make the original NCIS such compelling watching are just as top-notch in the Los Angeles spinoff. In NCIS: Los Angeles stars Chris O'Donnell (Callen) and LL Cool J (Sam Hanna) are the center of a superb ensemble that keeps this intelligent police procedural moving along believably and crisply. The other standouts in the cast include Linda Hunt, the self-contained ops manager Hetty Lange, who has seen it all in her career but whose expression stays just this side of laissez-faire. Eric Christian Olsen plays the hunky Deeks, who this season is dispatched on a mission with the Los Angeles Police Department--and who quickly gets sucked into a world of treachery and trouble. Daniela Ruah, as Special Agent Kensi Blye, has the tomboyish brunette beauty that recalls Jennifer Carpenter of Dexter. The team faces scary ripped-out-of-the-headlines challenges in season two. They tackle human trafficking (almost losing one of their own in the process), and a dire national security breach that may involve terrorists--or may be just an avenging WikiLeaks-type rogue. The big business of illegal immigration touches on several episodes throughout the season. The bad economy drives desperate acts from desperate people--sometimes from officers of the law. And the NCIS Los Angeles team once again finds it often has to battle for jurisdiction with the likes of the FBI, US Customs, the LAPD, the California Highway Patrol--even Interpol. Though the military connection that makes the original NCIS so intriguing is muted in NCIS: Los Angeles, the show continues to more than make up for it with its involving, complex plots; great character development; and use of on-location shooting, which lends a gritty realness to the story lines (and reminds the viewer of just how vast Los Angeles really is). This season there's also potential romance brewing between some of the agents--with palpable sexual tension. Callen, whose life was shattered in season one, tries to regain his equilibrium, one wisecrack at a time. And once again LL Cool J shows that he's one of the most charismatic actors on the small screen, being both the glue of the team as well as the straight man, and making it all look easy. Fans of NCIS: Los Angeles will also appreciate the boatloads of extras in this set, including a great feature on the story lines behind season two, cast commentaries, a look at the character of Hetty, the cinematographer's view, and much more. In short, season two of NCIS: Los Angeles is pitch-perfect as a crime procedural, and any fans of true crime and well-written drama will want to own it. --A.T. Hurley
The Office of Special Projects (OSP) is a clandestine division of NCIS and is located in Los Angeles, California. They go deep undercover to capture criminals that are threatening national security. They have access to the latest technological developments. The team includes G Callen, the chameleon; Sam Hanna, Callen's partner and a surveillance expert; Kensi Lo, the adrenalin junkie and Nate Getz, the Psychologist to help the team with the mission and their own mental health. Together with the woman who manages their special technical equipment, this team will do whatever is necessary to get the job done.
